But I have noticed that ZFS in my experience.  I had a drive fail in a Raid-z setup and expected the hotspares to take over.  This did not occur for some reason.  Sun Tech support informed me that manual intervention was need to get the hot spares to take over the failed drive.  I was under the impression that ZFS was going to force the hot spare to take over the failed drive but it didn't.  Have any of you guys experienced this issue?
